milestones

There are some big milestones to report here at they byron household.  First, we'll start with Ben's!  In his Birthday post I failed to acknowledge all of his 12-month, er 1-year, accomplishments!

Well, Ben, at 1-year old you:

• are in LOVE with Balls.... still :)  A little orange basketball you got for your birthday (from Chris & Sarah) is your absolute favorite thing in the world.  It goes everywhere with you - even bed!
• are obsessed with turning the lights off and on with the lightswitches on the wall.
• are REALLY into music and all of your music toys.  You love the toys where you press a button and the music plays.  You could do that for hours!
• are already going on 2... and by that I mean we have experienced our first tantrum! I was kind of in shock and first, then laughed... oh no! Here we go!
• are getting a bit of separation anxiety.....and love being held by mommy 24/7.  Other times, like at the grocery or breakfast place down the street, you walk up to stangers and hold your arms up to them!
• now have 4 teeth!!! We went from none, to one, to 4!! It's making eating a lot more fun and easier!
• are RUNNING. Really.  People ask me if you are walking yet and my response is that you are literally RUNNING.  It is a workout just keeping up with you!
• can walk backward and side step -- you are physically insanely advanced!
• can be really, reall loud.  I love your sweet voice, but you definitely have a loud voice and a normal voice :) haha
• have had your FIRST KISS --- whaaaaaat?? YES.  More on that in the next post from our beach trip!
• are in the 50% for everything... head, weight, length.  You are in size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes!

you LOVE brushing your teeth - or chewing on the toothbrush... either way, great habits start early!

Now on to a milestone for Matt and me! We are under contract on a house! Yay!!! We found the house about a month ago and have been in process since the day we saw it! We close in just 3 weeks at the end of August!  We are so, so excited!  We had been discussing our options since January practically and with me & him both liking our jobs - we made the executive decision to stay put and stop renting and BUY A HOUSE!  We love it... its 3x the size of our current house... in a great school district & neighborhood... and doesn't need much work! Perfection!

Coming from a 3/1 with tiny closets, no basement, no garage... we are going to be in HEAVEN!  Finding this place in our top choice for neighborhoods was like a dream come true.  We have gotten through most of the inspection stuff and are just finalizing all of the details now.  We don't have a lot of work to do, which is SO nice (esp in this neighborhood), but there are a few things on our list!
